BNA's growth fuels record-breaking year for Nashville airport

The Nashville International Airport is setting a slew of new records, according to new data that tracks passenger traffic.

Why it matters: The continued surge of travelers comes as the airport adds new gates, international flights and amenities. BNA is putting billions of dollars toward upgrades to accommodate its growth.

By the numbers: The airport saw 24.7 million passengers pass through during the 2024-25 fiscal year, per an announcement Monday. That's an all-time high, and a 4.2% year-over-year increase.

Zoom in: June 2025 was the busiest month on record for departing travelers, with 2,426,794 people screened.

June 22 became the busiest day in BNA's history, with 110,000 inbound and outbound passengers coming through the airport. (Of those, 48,039 were screened at security checkpoints — another all-time high for a single day.)

The big picture: Nashville's airport offers flights to 114 nonstop destinations. Two new international routes, to Iceland and Ireland, launched this year.
