The Belcourt unveils its most popular films of 2024

Cinephiles rejoice. The Belcourt announced its most popular movies of 2024.

Why it matters: The historic Nashville theater's top hits highlight the biggest contemporary titles in indie cinema and classics that every movie lover should see.

Zoom in: "Poor Things," the surreal spin on Frankenstein that brought Emma Stone her second Oscar, was the top new release of the year at The Belcourt.

Next was the vampire epic "Nosferatu." Its showing is particularly impressive because it only came out on Dec. 25.
Other top new releases included "Anora," "The Zone of Interest," "A Real Pain" and "Conclave."

The big picture: "It's A Wonderful Life" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" regularly top the annual list of the most popular classic screenings at The Belcourt.

The other top draws among returning favorites included "Seven Samurai," "Pulp Fiction," "Amadeus" and "The Matrix."
