The Oprah graffiti in Nashville keeps coming

Flashback: We reported in June 2023 about the string of Oprah graffiti. While the Oprah tags were especially prominent in East Nashville, readers pointed out they could be seen throughout the city.

Context: Oprah attended Tennessee State and has Nashville roots.

The latest: There's an enormous piece of Oprah graffiti art on a large industrial structure in East Nashville.

The intrigue: With no apparent end in sight to the Oprah tags, we asked Nashville police spokesperson Don Aaron what the department knows.

What he's saying: "Our team is aware of the 'Oprah' tags, which started appearing around the time Oprah visited Nashville in 2023," Aaron tells Axios, pointing out that Oprah spoke at TSU's commencement ceremony in May 2023.
