The Dallas Cowboys are in Oxnard, Calif., for training camp, and Dak Prescott is well aware of the team's Super Bowl drought.
Driving the news: The Cowboys quarterback arrived at training camp on Monday wearing a 1996 Super Bowl champions T-shirt. That was the last time the team won a championship.
The big picture: Prescott is starting his 11th season with the Cowboys but hasn't been able to get them past the NFC Divisional Round. The team missed the playoffs the last two seasons.
State of play: This is head coach Brian Schottenheimer's second season in the position, but he has extra firepower from someone who has coached a Super Bowl winning team before.
Christian Parker, 34, was a coach for the Philadelphia Eagles when they won the Super Bowl in 2025. He is now the Cowboys' youngest defensive coordinator in franchise history.
Meanwhile, former Ohio State safety Caleb Downs is starting his rookie year with the Cowboys. He was the Big Ten's defensive player of the year in 2025.
Between the lines: The team's training camp is usually buzzing with contract negotiations and holdouts. This year has been relatively quiet.
What's next: The Cowboys' open practices start today in Oxnard. The team's preseason begins Aug. 15.
The bottom line: "The ultimate goal is the Super Bowl ... You hoist up that trophy, you live for forever in our opinion. So, I think that's what it's all about right now, and I think everyone is focused on that goal right now," Cowboys guard Tyler Smith told reporters.
