Deep Ellum has earned its wings. Dallas-based Wingstop is hosting a pop-up experience at the Bomb Factory from Wednesday through July 3.
Why it matters: Wingstop debuted the House of Flavor in Paris in 2024 and Milan in February. Dallas and Toronto are the first North American cities to get the pop-up.
- "It felt like the clear choice to bring our first U.S. edition of House of Flavor to our hometown and HQ," Andreia Harwood, a senior director at Wingstop, tells Axios.
State of play: Wingstop says the Dallas House of Flavor can accommodate up to 2,000 people at a time. The experience will include DJs, World Cup watch parties, merch, soccer-inspired haircuts and free wings until supplies last.
- Rapper Ferg is scheduled to perform at 11pm Wednesday. Dallas native BigXthaPlug will perform the night of July 3.
Flashback: Ohio native Antonio Swad launched Pizza Patrón in 1986 in Pleasant Grove and opened the first Wingstop in 1994 in Garland. There are now over 2,500 Wingstop locations globally.
- Swad no longer owns the company and talked about his "nail-biting exit" on the "How I Built This" podcast.
If you go: The Dallas pop-up opens at 3pm Wednesday and closes at 2am. From Thursday to July 3, the hours will be 11am–2am. The kitchen will close at 10pm every night.
- "We intentionally set long hours to ensure that guests can arrive and explore at times that work best for their schedule," Harwood said.
Pro tip: Club Wingstop members will get to try the Sweet Heat Chamoy wing flavor, featuring Tajín, on opening night and expedited entry for the entirety of the event, per the event's website.
- The event allows children but requires visitors 16 and younger to be accompanied by an adult. Check the venue's bag policy before going.
Reality check: We hope the lines won't be as long as this Korean skin care pop-up a few weeks ago.
