American Express is expanding its Centurion lounge at DFW Airport to offer more seating and a walk-up ice cream window for travelers on the go.
Why it matters: The Terminal D lounge is one of American Express' oldest and most popular locations, the company says.
But the lounge's competition has intensified with the Capital One lounge and Plaza Premium lounge in the same terminal.
The intrigue: James Beard Award-winning chefswill help Amex create seasonal menus for its lounges at DFW Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Boston Logan International Airport, the company said in a news release.
Zoom in: The upgrades, set to be completed in 2027, will expand the current lounge by 50%, including a new dining area.
The decor will be inspired by Southern culture, featuring warm desert tones.
How it works: Amex's Platinum cardholders get complimentary access to the Centurion lounge up to three hours before their departure time.
