The city of Dallas and the Dallas Wings have agreed to share the costs of the team's new practice facility in West Oak Cliff.
The big picture: After playing at UT Arlington for years, the Wings are planning to relocate to spaces built for them in Dallas. The team will initially have a 15-year lease at Memorial Auditorium in downtown.
The latest: The city plans to contribute up to $54 million toward the practice facility, while the team has agreed to pay the remaining $27 million and any cost differences that come up later, per city documents.
The intrigue: The facility will have a kitchen, hydrotherapy pools, salon space, weight room, at least two basketball courts and a space for community events.
The city is also constructing four soccer fields and trails nearby.
What's next: City officials have postponed the completion of the practice facility to 2027 and Memorial Auditorium to 2028, per city documents.
