Coppell's Hannah Bilka and the U.S. women's hockey team won gold yesterday with an overtime goal over Team Canada.
Plano's Amber Glenn placed fifth yesterday in women's figure skating. The U.S. also won gold in the figure skating team event earlier this month.
State of sticks: Bilka didn't score in yesterday's gold medal game, but her performance throughout the Olympics got Team USA to the top of the podium.
She had two assists in the semifinals win over Sweden, sending the U.S. to yesterday's final. She scored three goals during the tournament, including two against Canada during preliminaries.
State of skates: Amber Glenn was seeking redemption during her women's free skate yesterday after a "soul-crushing" women's short program that put her in 13th place.
Glenn's triple axels during the free skate was the best triple axel figure skating that legend Tara Lipinski has ever seen from Glenn.

What she's saying: Despite falling slightly in her final jump, Glenn scored a strong 147.52 to temporarily take first place after combining her women's short program and free skate scores.
"I told myself, 'You just skated, stayed on your feet at the Olympics.' So I am proud that I was able to have that moment," Glenn said afterward.
