Austin's Aba restaurant has long been on our wishlist for chains that should expand to Dallas. Our dreams are finally coming true.
Driving the news: The upscale Mediterranean restaurant chain will open a location in the Design District in late 2026, its owners announced this week.
The big picture: Aba — the Hebrew word for "father" — has locations in Chicago, Austin and Nashville.
Vibe check: Similar to the other Aba locations, the Dallas location will have indoor and outdoor dining around the theme of "summer in the Mediterranean."
What they're saying: Our editor Bob, who lives in Austin, says the hype around Aba is well deserved.
"The food feels meant to be enjoyed in the open air," Bob says. "My wife and I once ordered takeout and ate by candlelight in our back yard, imitating the experience of eating outside at the restaurant."
Fun fact: The real estate investment firm behind The Seam, the massive multi-use project where Aba will be located, is based in … Charlotte.
