A scenic park for watching planes land at DFW Airport has reopened after almost four months of soil remediation.
Flashback: Founders' Plaza was well loved by plane enthusiasts and picnickers during the pandemic. Parents posted up with lawn chairs, children tumbled in the grass and couples met up for dates.
Vibe check: A fence separates the plaza from a runway where planes take off and land. There are benches and telescopes for the public to use.
A speaker broadcasts air traffic communications from the airport's FAA tower.
Fun fact: One of the plaza's sculptures pays tribute to DFW Airport's history.
The structure's four panels represent the airport's four original terminals.
The center panel's height, 8.11 feet, represents the length of the airport's property in miles.
And, 35-inch wide side panels represent the roughly 35-mile distance between Dallas and Fort Worth.
