Martin Luther King Jr. events in Dallas-Fort Worth

• 7pm Friday at DeSoto High School. Free admission with a canned good donation.

🧹 Clean up the neighborhood. Reactivate Dallas is hosting a volunteer event Saturday to beautify South Dallas. There will also be a mural painting in honor of local civil rights activist Juanita Craft.

• Community cleanup starts 9am Saturday at the MLK Jr. Community Center. A block party starts at noon.

🎷 Arlington day of service. The city's "Advancing the Dream" celebration in honor of King includes a gala, step showcase, jazz event and a festival hosted by the Dallas Wings on Monday.

• 10am-2pm Monday at City Center Plaza.

🥁 Dallas MLK Parade. The city is hosting its annual celebration week, ending with the parade.

• 10:30am Monday along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from SM Wright Parkway to Fair Park.

🏈 Denton celebration. The MLK Day Celebration includes a community march and a flag football tournament.

• 9:30am Monday. The march starts at the American Legion Hall Senior Center and ends at the MLK Jr. Recreation Center.

🪧 Fort Worth march. The Greater Fort Worth Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee is hosting a parade and rally Monday. The parade lineup begins at 10am at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The route continues to Sundance Square.

• 11am-2pm Monday. Participants can register in advance. Walker registration starts at $30.

🚶‍➡️ Plano parade. The Collin County branch of the NAACP is hosting the 2026 MLK Parade. Plano Chief Ed Drain will be the grand marshal.

• 10am Monday starting at the Douglass Community Mural. The 1.2-mile route continues through the neighborhood and along Haggard Park.
