The intrigue: Our work wife romance began at the Dallas Morning News in 2018. Tasha was a criminal justice reporter, and Naheed reported on breaking news, before joining Tasha on the criminal justice team.

• Now, we cover a little bit of everything to help readers like you make sense of our fast-growing region.

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves ...

Tasha: I'm Texas born and (mostly) raised. I've lived in both Dallas and Fort Worth and refuse to say whether I have a favorite.

• I can ride a horse, which makes it tough to fight the Texas stereotype when talking to non-Texans.
• I have loved watching the region grow, but I miss some of the sprawling ranchland and cows that once made up the suburbs' land.

Naheed: I grew up near DFW Airport, when you could still cut through the airport to get to Dallas without paying a hefty toll.

• While living in the suburbs, I have seen dormant land fill up with restaurants, homes and shops. I've also learned that there's more to life than Whataburger and Walmart.

• I live in Denton County with my husband and our dog, Luka. That name aged well. 🙄
