North Texas Google searches

North Texans were a little all over the place in their Google searches this year.

The big picture: Google's Year in Search lists break down which topics people are interested in globally, nationally and locally.

• Charlie Kirk, "KPop Demon Hunters" and Labubu were the top Google searches in the U.S. this year.

Zoom in: Dictionary.com's word of the year, Dirk Nowitzki's jersey number and "unc" were among the top searches in Dallas-Fort Worth. North Texans also wanted to know what SYBAU means.

• KPop Demon Hunters dominated Google, with "Soda Pop," "Golden" and "Your Idol" taking three of the top five song searches in the region.

The intrigue: Our sports teams didn't even make our most common Google searches for jerseys this year.

• Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Steph Curry were among the top searches for jerseys for Dallas-Fort Worth.

Between the lines: True Dallas sports fans don't need Google to keep up with their favorite players.
