The Dallas skyline helped a cybersecurity engineer pull off his content creator girlfriend's dream proposal earlier this month.
The intrigue: Video of hundreds of drones spelling out "Will you marry me?" with hearts, ring box and infinity symbol went viral on social media, long before people learned the identity of the couple.
Context: Travon Duncan and Erica McDowell met in 2017, while attending Virginia Union University. They now live in the Dallas area.
How it happened: Duncan tells People he started planning the proposal in July. He says he had to get a permit to block off nearby streets because drones can't fly over moving cars.
Their friends and family joined them on a rooftop to watch the drone show. Duncan tells People the proposal was "a major investment," without elaborating on the actual cost.
What they're saying: "I have NO notes. My man executed this perfectly. I'm so full & am so blessed to have him," McDowell posted on Instagram.
