Women's hockey is coming to Dallas. Well, for one night.
Driving the news: The Professional Women's Hockey League will visit Dallas for the first time in December.
The Seattle Torrent and the New York Sirens will play Dec. 28 at the American Airlines Center.
The big picture: The upstart league is starting its third season this month and is trying to attract new fans.
The PWHL added two teams for this season — Seattle and the Vancouver Goldeneyes. Teams will play 16 regular-season games in 11 U.S. and Canadian cities that don't have full-time teams.
By the numbers: Last season's PWHL Takeover Tour drew 123,601 fans during nine games.
Average game attendance grew in the 2024-25 season to 7,230 from 5,689 in the inaugural season.
What's next: The regular season starts Nov. 21. The season ends in late April.
