Michelin's guide to Dallas-Fort Worth

Dallas-Fort Worth now has two Michelin-starred restaurants and a Michelin award-winning bar team.

Why it matters: A Michelin star can elevate a popular local restaurant to tourist attraction.

Driving the news: Michelin released its second Texas guide Tuesday, awarding a star each to Tatsu Dallas for the second year and Mamani for the first time.

• Mister Charles won this year's award for exceptional cocktail, after making Michelin's recommended list last year.

State of dining: Tatsu Dallas, a 10-seat omakase, was the city's sole one-star restaurant last year.

• Mamani, which offers French contemporary cuisine, opened in September.
• Mister Charles, located in an old pharmacy building, has a menu inspired by an imaginary "well-traveled sophisticated guy that likes to have fun."

What they're saying: Michelin says diners looking to indulge will get their money's worth at Mamani.

• "Top-drawer ingredients, faultless technique and world-class sauces are evident throughout," Michelin writes.

The intrigue: All six of the Dallas area's 2024 Bib Gourmand recipients received the award again this year, recognized as best-value restaurants.

• They include Cattleack Barbeque, Gemma, Lucia, Một Hai Ba, Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen and Nonna.

Zoom out: Austin has seven stars, the most in the state. Houston has the second-most stars, with five.
