You couldn't possibly walk a mile in Big Tex's shoes, but you can help design his next pair of Luccheses.
The big picture: The 12 foot tall, size 96 boots are a big deal.
One of Big Tex's old pairs is in DC for a Smithsonian exhibit.He's had his current boots since 2023, but fair officials say it's time to change up the look.
The intrigue: The winning design will be used for at least three years, starting with the 2026 state fair. The artist will also get a pair of Lucchese boots, valued around $900.
The 2023 winner was an Irving resident who grew up going to the fair every year.
How it works: Submissions are open through Jan. 31. To enter, review the design guidelines and draw on the templates provided.
