Parks aren't just for kids and daytime visits. Photo: Naheed "Strollin'" Rajwani-Dharsi/Axios
👋 Naheed here! Every so often, I need a hazam walk. That's Urdu for a post-meal stroll to digest your food.
Driving the news: My husband and I recently found ourselves in need of a hazam walk (pronounced "huzz-um") after a hearty dinner at The Star and decided to check out Kaleidoscope Park across the street.
The intrigue: Boston-based artist Janet Echelman designed the 5.7-acre park's colorful canopy using a web of fibers.
"Butterfly Rest Stop" sways with the wind and lights up at night, displaying neon-like hues of purple and blue.
Vibe check: There were a few families at the park during my nighttime stroll, but it was mostly empty. The misters were on, and the canopy flapped with the breeze.
We walked up the wooden ramp, hobbled over the differently sized wood stumps and sat on benches to observe all of the colors above us.
The big picture: It was a serene visit, a way to slow down and talk about the week ahead.
You should try it sometime.
