The Dallas Cowboys weren't able to beat the 2025 Super Bowl winners in their season opener last night.
Driving the news: The Cowboys fell to the Philadelphia Eagles 24-20.
State of play: It was an odd night.
Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter spat on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott early in the first quarter and was ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. The referees also gave the Eagles a 15-yard penalty.
Rain and lightning stopped the game for nearly an hour during the third quarter, which resulted in a very hungry Trevon Diggs hunting for food in the stadium.
Yes, but: The Eagles were up 24-20 before the delay.
The score stayed that way to the end, after Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb dropped a few pivotal catches.
