How to donate early to North Texas Giving Day

North Texas Giving Day is now accepting online donations ahead of the local philanthropic day on Sept. 18.

Why it matters: The event raised more than $9.4 million in early donations last year.

• The Communities Foundation of North Texas, which organizes the giving day, says all of the money goes directly to the nonprofits selected by donors.

How it works: Take a quiz to be matched with causes and browse nonprofits at any time before Sept. 18.

• You can also promote your favorite nonprofits on an ambassador page.

What's next: Kaleidoscope Park in Frisco is hosting a North Texas Giving Day Nonprofit Fair 6-9pm Saturday.

• Visitors can meet representatives from dozens of nonprofits during the park's Hispanic Heritage Celebration.
