One drink to go: Jaquval

This gastropub is a jack of all trades. Expect great beer, tasty food and excellent cocktails in a laidback environment.

Vibe check: Jaquval has been open for not even two years in the Bishop Arts District, but it has the feel of an earlier time in the neighborhood, before multilevel apartments towered and traffic became a nightmare.

• The walls are covered with chalk writing, art and flags. It's part old school Ten Bells and English pub — in the best way.

What to order: Tokyo Blackout, a Japanese black lager.

• We also highly recommend the Fiesta de Fuego — a cocktail with mezcal, Aperol, orgeat and lime.
