FIFA seeks 6,000 D-FW volunteers for World Cup

Dallas-Fort Worth residents can now register to volunteer for the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup.

Why it matters: North Texas will host nine matches next year, the most of any city.

• Organizers expect to sell 700,000 tickets for the events at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

State of play: Dallas is one of the 16 North American cities to host the World Cup June 11-July 19, 2026.

• FIFA expects to have more than 6,000 volunteers in D-FW.

How it works: Registration opens today for people over 18. English fluency is required.

• Volunteers must be able to commit to eight shifts and be available during the full tournament.
• Team tryouts for volunteers are planned later this year, and volunteer roles will be offered early next year.
• Volunteers will be working at the media center, fan festivals and transportation centers. Training sessions are scheduled in the spring.

Perks: Volunteers will get an official World Cup uniform, a certificate and food and refreshments during shifts.

What's next: Match tickets go on sale in phases starting Sept. 10 for Visa cardholders.
