One Dubai chocolate cake to go

The Dubai chocolate craze has reached the Dallas area, inspiring cookies, croissants, cake and strawberries at local shops.

The intrigue: Dubai chocolate is filled with a mixture of pistachio cream and shredded phyllo pastry used in knafeh.

Zoom in: We recently visited MOTW in Plano to try their coffee and ended up also loving their Dubai chocolate cake.

• Two soft chocolate sponges sandwich the pistachio cream and phyllo filling. The dessert is topped with a ganache and slivers of chocolate.

Vibe check: MOTW was inspired by an Instagram initiative to highlight "Muslims of the World" amid anti-Muslim sentiment.

• The Plano location is the chain's first in Texas. The coffee shop has modern organic decor, with indoor trees and a large meeting space that can host private events.
