Beloved Tex-Mex chain, Chuy's, has officially moved from its Knox-Henderson location in Dallas to Greenville Avenue.
State of play: Chuy's now fills the 8,200 square feet of indoor space that once housed Desert Racer.
- The sleek tacos and burgers joint was seldom packed and shuttered last March after more than four years in business.
Vibe check: Now, the inside is decidedly Chuy's. Still filled with Elvis-themed decor, the new Chuy's feels more spacious than its previous location.
- Framed pictures of dogs hang above the bar. Colorful tiles cover the walls. And diners still experience the joy of unsticking from the booth seat after eating the seemingly endless supply of chips and dips.
Yes, but: Chuy's hasn't quite figured out how to optimize the sprawling patio space that made its predecessor a draw on a nice day.
What to order: Soft tacos with fajita chicken. Served with rice and beans.
