The Dallas Museum of Art has acquired seven new pieces with roots in the U.S., Burkina Faso, Canada, China, Japan and Mexico.
Why it matters: This is the ninth year that the DMA has bought pieces from the Dallas Art Fair as part of an effort that connects Dallas' art scene with global galleries and contemporary artists.
The 2025 fair was last weekend.
Zoom in: The selection includes a 1974 portrait by photographer Sanlé Sory, capturing youth culture in Burkina Faso after its independence from France.
Los Angeles-based Eduardo Sarabia captures northern Mexico's folk history and economies in his pieces, including a hand painted ceramic vase with a wood box that says "Peyote."
