Born Strong Martial Arts offers low-cost, and sometimes free, classes for people of all ages.
Why it matters: Co-owner Glitter Rose launched the nonprofit to make martial arts more accessible.
Rose tells Axios martial arts helped her and her husband build confidence and wanted to offer the same to opportunity to kids.
Context: Black belt Neb Ermias instructs the classes, which are hosted at the Harry Stone and Samuel Grand recreation centers in East Dallas.
If you go: Memberships are $140 for two classes a week or $90 for one class a week. The cost includes uniforms and belts.
