The Texas Rangers have four of the top 100 best baseball players this year, according to an ESPN ranking.
The big picture: No team has more recognized players than the reigning World Series champs, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team has nine of the best players, including the top-ranked Shohei Ohtani.
Just three MLB teams — the Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox and the Washington Nationals — have no players on the list.
The latest: The Ranges have won their first three series of the season after sweeping Tampa Bay yesterday.
Zoom in: Shortstop Corey Seager is the top-ranked Ranger at No. 21. Seager was sidelined a couple times last season due to injury but ESPN predicts if he stays healthy, he'll be critical to the Rangers returning to the postseason.
Second baseman Marcus Semien is ranked 50.
At just 23, outfielder Wyatt Langford is ranked 65.
The intrigue: Pitcher Jacob deGrom is ranked 70, despite only a handful of outings for the Rangers after returning from Tommy John surgery.
If the two-time Cy Young winner stays healthy, he will "shoot up these rankings next year," ESPN says.
Yes, but: The rankings are largely subjective. Some players argued their peers should be ranked higher.
"I don't know why Seager is so low. I love Seager," his former teammate Manny Machado told ESPN.
