Walk the red carpet and enter another time at this East Dallas bar, which pays homage to a long-closed golf club.
State of play: The bar opened just over a year ago in a space previously occupied by a small-batch liquor and wine store.
- It's named after a Jewish country club that opened in 1881 in Dallas, moved to Carrollton in the 1950s, and closed in 2004.
Vibe check: Plush carpet, verdant wallpaper and leather and velvet seating lend the lounge the upscale feeling of, well, a country club.
- Bartenders and staff dress up. Live music plays from a corner. And guests show up to impress.
Pro tip: Make a reservation, especially on weekends.
- Columbian serves light bites, including sushi rolls. We loved the garlicky fries served with spicy ketchup.
What to order: Señor Harvey Wallbanger made with mezcal, Montenegro, Galliano and mango.
- The cocktail list has several martini options, including the Hanky Panky, a blend of gin, vermouth and Fernet.
