The displays at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum in Boston abruptly end with news footage from Nov. 22, 1963, in Dallas.
State of play: We recently visited the JFK Library with one of our Axios Boston colleagues β payback for a group venture to the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas a couple of years ago.
The museums offer two parts to the same story.
Context: The JFK Library highlights the president's childhood, political rise, and 1960 campaign. Visitors can explore his early life and his courtship with Jacqueline Kennedy.
Though Kennedy's presidency was short, there is still much to cover, from the Cuban Missile Crisis to NASA's early space exploration.
Zoom in: The JFK Library has little on the assassination or its aftermath β that's where the Sixth Floor Museum picks up the story.
If you go: The library is open 10am-5pm daily in Boston. Admission is $18.
