North Texas is home to more than 8.3 million people across more than 100 cities and towns, making it hard to give this vast metro area a singular name.
But when outside Texas, most people from this area just say they're from Dallas.
State of play:We asked you last week what the North Texas region that encompasses Dallas and Fort Worth and Denton and Plano and Frisco and Rockwall and Waxahachie and more should be called.
The Dallas Sports Commission refers to the region as "DFW-AF" while planning the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
What you said: Many Axios Dallas readers stick with D-FW or North Texas/NTX. Some got a little creative.
"D-FW AF=METROMESS," wrote Donald R. We suspect this may have been said after a rough morning on I-635.
"DAFWA - Dallas Arlington Fort Worth Area," says Mike S.
The intrigue: Vincent G. says we should be called "North Central Texas," which is already used by our council of governments. He says the metro should embrace more region-wide efforts, such as a regional police academy.
"It is the region rather than the bigger cities that make this area great," Vincent wrote.
The bottom line: We still don't like using metroplex, but Frank D. says, "'The Texas Metroplex' is the shining star of the state of Texas."
