Hell hath no fury like a Mavericks fan after superstar Luka Dončić was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Why it matters: Mavericks fans expected to witness Dončić's entire career in Dallas after watching legend Dirk Nowitzki play his 21-year NBA career with the team.
Driving the news: Two fans were ejected from Monday night's game at the American Airlines Center for violating the NBA code of conduct. The fans held up a "Fire Nico" sign and allegedly got into a shouting match with Mark Cuban.
Meanwhile, Dončić scored 14 points during 24 minutes of play in his first game with the Lakers.
The intrigue: Nowitzki was in L.A. to watch Dončić's debut Monday.

State of play: Anthony Davis, who joined the Mavs in the trade, is likely to miss several weeks after exiting his debut game over the weekend with a left thigh strain, per ESPN.
Zoom in: Fans have protested since the trade was announced, even holding a funeral for the team outside the AAC.
They also chanted for general manager Nico Harrison to be fired before Davis' debut.
Mavs coach Jason Kidd called fan protests "freedom of speech" on Saturday but didn't conduct post-game interviews Monday.
What they're saying: "They watch their favorite players and they want to see them forever," Mavs point guard Kyrie Irving said.
