A Michelin nod doesn't always guarantee greatness, but these tacos are worth a stop if you're nearby.
The intrigue: The Cortez family started selling menudo and birria from their home in 2019. By 2020, they'd saved enough to open a food truck, drawing massive crowds.
In 2021, they expanded to a brick-and-mortar spot on East Rosedale Avenue The family now sells as many as 6,000 tacos a day, per the DMN.
Vibe check: The space has a laid-back, family-style feel with a roomy outdoor patio. Expect to wait two to three hours on weekends, but weekdays are much quieter.
What to order: Quesabirria tacos and birria flautas. Don't skip the consomé.
