One cocktail to go: Ascension

Few things pair better than booze and espresso, and few places offer holiday flights quite like Ascension. 

Zoom in: The coffee shop has locations throughout North Texas, including our favorite near White Rock Lake. 

• The cafe retained the vaulted ceilings of the church building it renovated. 

What to order: Espresso martini flight — three mini martinis in holiday cookie, dulce de leche and white chocolate peppermint flavors. 

• The holiday cookie and peppermint flavors are usually topped with whipped cream, but we opted to forgo the extra calories.
