This coffee shop is more lit at night than during the daytime, hosting groups looking for a post-dinner hangout spot.
The intrigue: Qahwah House has a strong following in other regions, including the Chicago and Houston areas. The founder is from Yemen, where his family has farmed coffee for eight generations.
The chain has finallyexpanded to McKinney, joining the many Middle Eastern coffee shops that are already in North Texas.
What to order: Adeni chai and khaliat al-nahl, a honeycomb bread.
Where:Qahwah House, 8880 State Highway 121, in McKinney
Cost: $19 for a large pot of tea, $6 for the bread
Pro tip: The tea is very strong and will probably keep you awake for hours.
Six word review: Coffee and culture in one place.
