The Dallas Cowboys suffered their worst home loss since billionaire Jerry Jones bought the team — and on his birthday.
It may come as no surprise that he got a little defensive about his management choices during a radio interview yesterday.
State of play: The Cowboys are 3-3 after the Detroit Lions gutted them 47-9 on Sunday.
The latest: Jones defended the Cowboys and his hiring choices during an interview on 105.3 The Fan.
He said he would not fire head coach Mike McCarthy midseason, unlike his 2010 decision to fire Wade Phillips after a 45-7 loss to the Packers.
What he's saying: "You really think you're going to sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I've done wrong and without going over the rights?" Jones said during a heated back-and-forth with 105.3 The Fan host Shan Shariff.
The other side: Shariff says the standard for the Cowboys has been lowered.
"Jerry wants praise for 12-win regular seasons. He wants a parade for the branding, TV ratings and attendance," the host posted on X. "The standard for America's team is supposed to be rings, period."
