Spectators were already decked out in maroon and cream Dallas Trinity FC gear at the team's first regular season home game last week.
Why it matters: The women's soccer team is the newest professional team in sports-obsessed North Texas.
- And fans appear to already wholeheartedly love Dallas Trinity.
State of play: The club is the second major professional women's sports team in the region.
- But unlike the Dallas Wings playing in the well-established WNBA, Dallas Trinity FC is part of the upstart USL Super League, a new organization rivaling the National Women's Soccer League.
Vibe check: Dallas Trinity unveiled the team name and logo in May, giving Trinity just a few months to drum up interest in the season.
- Yet fans filled the Cotton Bowl bleachers to loudly cheer for Dallas in last week's game. Many showed up to the gates already wearing Trinity shirts. Others shopped for gear and hats to put on during the game.
The intrigue: A handful of fans wore "everyone watches women's sports" tees. The crowd made that feel true.
Cheer like a pro: Defender Amber Brooks was the first player signed by the team. She's easy to root for. Just look for No. 22.
- There are also several players from North Texas, including Enzi Broussard, No. 7. She's fast and fun to watch.
Game tips: DART stops at Fair Park. There is also a rideshare dropoff area. Parking is separate from your ticket.
- There's bleacher seating, so bring a pad.
What's next: Dallas Trinity is ranked third after two tied matches.
- They play Friday against Lexington SC at the Cotton Bowl. There will be fireworks after the match.
