The best bars are often found in unlikely buildings, tucked into neighborhoods, down the street from the finest Italian food store in town.
Vibe check: Saint Valentine has been open for less than a year in East Dallas. From the outside, the building looks like it could be anything — a generic office, bank or drive-thru eatery.
But through the nondescript doors is a lounge with booth, cocktail and bar seating. The lighting is dim, the music is subtle, and the drinks are divine.
What to expect: Small bites and distinctive distillations.
A negroni isn't just a negroni. It's pink, with a hint of strawberry. Martinis are fat-washed. Tiki ditches juice.
What to order: Mai Tai Milk Punch — coconut milk clarified rum, dry curaçao, macadamia orgeat and lime.
