The Dallas Wings are reportedly the WNBA's highest-valued team while carrying this season's worst record.
Why it matters: The Sports Business Journal reports recent Wings investments have boosted the franchise's valuation to $208 million.
State of play: The Wings play at UT Arlington's College Park Center. They've won six games and lost 19 this season, with 15 games left to play through late September.
Zoom in: Sportico valued the Wings at $75 million in June, second-last among the WNBA's 12 teams.
The Dallas City Council agreed to pay $19 million in incentives to the Wings in a 15-year deal to bring the team to an arena at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center starting in 2026.
The Wings will also get their own practice facility, which CEO Greg Bibb says will be "on par with any NBA facility out there."
The intrigue: Businessmen Jed Kaplan and Randy Eisenman have purchased a combined 1% stake in the Wings from Bibb, paying $1.04 million each, per the Sports Business Journal.
What we're watching: How the latest investments in the Wings will influence their upcoming media rights deal in 2025.
