The American League may have lost the MLB Futures game over the weekend, but Rangers fans got to see some of their favorite former players and meet their favorite future players.
State of play: What felt like the entire 2011 Texas Rangers World Series team coached the MLB's top prospects in Saturday's Futures Game. Adrián Beltré managed the AL team. Michael Young managed the NL team.
Ian Kinsler, Mitch Moreland, Elvis Andrus and Derek Holland were all there. Plus, some of the Rangers' top prospects played.

The big picture: Some of the biggest names in minor league baseball played in the game and then competed in the first-ever Futures Skills Showcase.
The showcase was a crowd favorite with three rounds giving players a chance to show off bunting, precision and power.
Highlights: Rangers pitching prospect Emiliano Teodo, 23, threw two shutout innings in the Futures Game.
Another Rangers prospect, Sebastian Walcott, 18, was two points shy of winning the showcase.
What's next: All-Star Week continues at 7pm with the Home Run Derby.
Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis García is competing.
