Metro Atlanta's Netherworld returns for its 30th season

Netherworld, one of metro Atlanta's longest-running haunted houses, returns for its 30th year Friday.

Why it matters: The heavyweight haunted house in Stone Mountain is a local Halloween pastime and should be the first and final stop on a punch-card of metro Atlanta spook-taculars.

State of play: "Curse of the Collector," a supernatural battle royale of characters from the Netherworld universe, is this year's headlining haunt experience.

"Beyond Oblivion: Legacy of Evil" is the largest "second attraction" in the company's history, Netherworld says.

Games, roaming ghouls and outdoor experiences can be found at the midway. A monster museum and themed escape rooms are also open.

Boo-m in: Netherworld rolled out a five-part YouTube docuseries showcasing the company's history and how it creates its high-production haunts.

Pro tip: Netherworld recommends using ride-share services and carpooling to avoid parking crunches caused by nearby construction and development.
