With the Super Bowl right around the corner and March Madness not far behind, one thing is certain: A lot of wings will be eaten.
State of play: Before the holidays, I asked readers where they go for the city's best chicken wings. The response was overwhelming, passionate — and, in some cases, deeply personal.
- Recommendations (email, social, friends, etc.) ranged from Publix (yes, really, but only on Cascade) to longtime Atlanta institutions, neighborhood taverns, and smoked-wing specialists.
- Even Wingstop noticed. A publicist reached out, feeling snubbed. We respect all contenders — so yes, they made the cut.
The Latest: It's down to two. The results of Thursday's survey left two wing spots standing — JR Crickets and The Local — but only one takes the crown.
Methodology: Only 16 could make the starting bracket — but we're listening for next time.
