Our strugglingAtlanta Falcons were knocked out of playoff contention following Sunday's 37-9 humiliating loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Why it matters: The Falcons (4-9) are now tied with the most consecutive losing seasons in franchise history with eight, the AJC reports.
The team is now third in the NFC South, trailed only by the Saints (3-10).
The big picture: Sunday's loss was the seventh in the last eight games the team has played.
According to the AP, the last time the Falcons (4-9) made the playoffs was in 2017 when the team made it to the Super Bowl and...well, we won't go there.
What's next: The Dirty Birds will soldier on and face the Buccaneers (7-6) Thursday in Tampa.
