It's official: We now know where and when the Falcons' 17 games in the 2025-26 season will take place.
Why it matters: Atlanta's road to its first playoff berth since 2017 is set. But games aren't won on paper, so no matter how easy — or difficult — the schedule looks, the Falcons still have to go out and perform.
Zoom in: Here are five fun facts and nuggets to know about this year's schedule.
Will history repeat itself?
The Falcons open the regular season on Sept. 7 at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If finding patterns in history is your thing, you won't mind Atlanta losing this game.
The intrigue: The last time the Falcons opened the season against Tampa was in 2016 (also at home). They lost that game before eventually making it to the Super Bowl.
- We don't need to say what happened in that game, though.
Week 1 blues
Speaking of losing, the first week of the season hasn't been kind to Atlanta over the past decade.
Stunning stat: Since 2015, the Falcons are 3-7 to open the season. That includes losing their first game each year from 2018-2022.
Under the bright lights
No, we aren't talking about Deion Sanders here. The Falcons went 25 games without a nationally televised one before playing on Monday Night Football in Week 2 last season. They had four more prime-time games after.
What's next: That streak continues this season. Atlanta is slated to play five times on either Sunday, Monday or Thursday Night Football.
Back across the pond
Just how far can a falcon fly? If it's up to the NFL, they'll need to be able to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
State of play: The Falcons will be a part of league history on Nov. 9 when they play the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin.
- It will be the first NFL game in the German city. Atlanta is 1-2 in international games, though those three have all been in London.
- Their most recent came in 2023, when they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It matters how you finish
While the first week of the season hasn't been kind to Atlanta, the final week tends to have better results.
By the numbers: Since 2015, the Falcons are 5-5 in their last game of the season. All of them have been division matchups.
- However, during that stretch, when Atlanta has ended the season against the New Orleans Saints (which they do this season), they are just 1-3.
