Today is Election Day. Here's what you need to know to vote in Atlanta

Driving the news: Polls open at 7am Tuesday and close at 8pm in Atlanta.

Where do I vote? Visit the Georgia Secretary of State My Voter Page to see your local voting precinct.

• That page will also show you a sample ballot, directions to your precinct and the hours of operation of your voting location.

Remember: If you are in line when polls close, you will be allowed to vote.

By the numbers: Across the state, 625,165 voters cast ballots during the early voting period.

• In Fulton, 105,570 voted early, followed by 56,492 in DeKalb, 46,287 in Gwinnett, 39,977 in Cobb and 16,055 in Clayton counties, according to the Georgia Secretary of State Election Data Hub.

Yes, and: Two seats on the states Public Service Commission, which regulates companies like Georgia Power, are also on the ballot today.

• Democrat Alicia Johnson faces incumbent Republican commissioner Tim Echols for the District 2 seat. (Read Georgia Recorder's voter guide on the race.)
• For the District 3 seat that encompasses metro Atlanta, Democrat Peter Hubbard is challenging incumbent Republican Fitz Johnson. (Georgia Recorder also has an overview of this race)

The fine print: Atlanta and Fulton County voters will also consider granting additional homestead exemptions from school property taxes to homeowners age 65 and older, no matter their income.
