UGA hosts Georgia Tech in Black Friday edition of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate

The big picture: Adding to the juice of this rivalry: The Bulldogs still have a lot to play for.

• They've secured their spot in the Dec. 7 SEC Championship, but entering that game with three losses would be an even tougher sell to make the College Football Playoff if they lose in the conference title game.

The other side: While Tech won't be playing the ACC title game, they are going bowling for the second year in a row. Though what's at stake for them is ending a six-game losing streak against UGA.

• Reason for hope: The Yellow Jackets have already pulled off two major upsets this season: against No. 10 Florida State to start the year and at home against No. 4 Miami to become bowl eligible.
• Plus, the last time Tech beat UGA came in Athens in 2016, the site of Friday's game.

By the numbers: UGA is 71-39-5 all time versus GA Tech scoring more than 30 points in their six game win streak.

The Falcons are coming off a bye week and will host the 7-4 Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at 1pm.
