Democratic U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath won the race for Georgia's new 6th Congressional District on Tuesday, defeating Republican opponent Jeff Criswell.
Why it matters: This is the second consecutive election where McBath has successfully changed seats — from the 6th to the 7th in 2022, and now from the 7th back to the 6th in 2024 — a musical chairs that repeated redistricting has made necessary.
The big picture: Voters cast ballots for all 14 of Georgia's congressional districts this Election Day.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene wins reelection
Greene has fought — and lost to — members of her own party in Congress. But she remains one of Trump's fiercest allies in the House and has joined him on the campaign trail in Georgia.
- She was favored to win the race for Georgia's 14th Congressional District against Democratic opponent veteran Shawn Harris.
