Portman plans food and beverage concept for historic funeral home

The historic H.M. Patterson Home and Gardens at the base of a new mixed-use development in Midtown will be a food and beverage concept dreamed up by a well-known restaurateur.

Driving the news: Portman Holdings announced that Steve Palmer of the Indigo Road Hospitality Group will create a "morning to night" food and beverage concept filling all 24,000 square feet of the historic funeral home at Spring Quarter.

Zoom in: If you've visited O-Ku in West Midtown, Sukoshi in Midtown or Oak Steakhouse and Colletta in Alpharetta then you know Indigo Road.

Details: Very few at the moment, though representatives say to expect more information in January, Eater reports.

Flashback: Last month, Portman announced that former Umi chef Fuyuhiko Ito would open Sozou, a contemporary Japanese culinary concept, and Omakase by Ito at Spring Quarter.

Zoom out: The housing component of Spring Quarter — Portman's first residential project in Atlanta — is officially open and welcoming residents.

Named Sora, the 370-unit, 30-story residential building includes an infrared sauna, fitness centers, a climbing wall, a golf simulator and outdoor lawn space, among other amenities.
