In a Monday morning tweet, President Trump weighed in on the wildest Republican Senate primary in the country — firmly coming out against coal baron Don Blankenship, who has leveled racist attacks against Sen. Mitch McConnell's family in his campaign ads.

Blankenship responded to Trump, via NBC News:
"The President is a very busy man and he doesn’t know me and he doesn’t know how flawed my two main opponents are in this primary ... As some have said, I am Trumpier than Trump and this morning proves it."
