Why it matters: Hippin' Hops will be the city's first Black-owned distillery.

What to expect: It has a 900-square-foot taproom and a 3,000-square-foot pavilion that will be used for live music.

• Part of the building will be used to distill vodka, rum, gin and moonshine.
• As for craft beer, Hippin' Hops specializes in wheat beers, sours, IPAs and stouts.

Details: Hippin' Hops is located in the former D9 Brewing Co. spot at 650 E. Brooklyn Village Ave.

• It's open Wednesday through Friday 2-10pm, Saturday 12-11pm and Sunday 12-9pm.
• Hours for the grand opening are 12-9pm.
