Tom Brady, Florida Man, was born five years ago today

Flashback: The year was 2021. The Bucs not only made it to the playoffs but won the whole thing, defeating Kansas City 31-9.

• Despite the ongoing pandemic, Tampa decided to throw a giant boat parade on Feb. 10, which we can all agree is definitely cooler than a street parade.
• Then, quarterback Tom Brady hoisted the gleaming Vince Lombardi Trophy on his custom yacht, and a new Florida Man was born.

Maybe it was the pandemic-induced stir crazy. Maybe it was celebrating another Super Bowl win in the Florida sunshine instead of the New England cold. Maybe (OK, "definitely") it was the alcohol.

• But Brady took the trophy and chucked it about 10 yards over the water to another boat, where teammate Cameron Brate caught it.
• A video of the toss almost instantly went viral. A video of Brady stumbling on land went even more viral.
• And Brady's typo-ridden response was the stuff memes are made of.

The bottom line: Champa Bay forever.
